It has been pretty chilly in the Netherlands and all around Europe this week thanks to ‘the beast from the east’! Now normally, I am the first to complain about the cold weather but I have learned that with freezing temperatures comes hot chocolate, snow ball fights, winter wonderlands, snowmen and even ice-skating on the canals! Also the Dutch are very tough, they are out on their bicycles come rain or shine and snow or sleet! So, here are some quotes to get you through the colder days and to be grateful for all the wonderful weather we are able to experience.
“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold.”
“You can complain about bad weather or you can splash around in a puddle!”
“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” – Anthony J. D’angelo
“What good is the warmth of summer without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?”
“There is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” – John Ruskin
“If winter comes, can spring be far behind?” – Percy Bysshe Shelley
“We could all learn a lesson from the weather, it pays no attention to criticism.”
And if all else fails!
“How to dress for cold weather:
1. Put your PJ’s on.
2. Get back into bed.”
